First off, this isn't hardcore at all. It's definitely good and well worth the listen however, it's like mixing New Found Glory (which I hate) with Deftones (which I find alright). There is some "screaming". But without aggression or anger or hard lyrics it just comes off as whinning rather than raoring. A perfect example of real hardcore would be Rollins era Black Flag or Minor Threat.

i don't exactly agree that this is a hardcore album. in fact, it isn't.

who cares if it's a "hardcore" release or not?
it rocks and that's all that matters.

i know that this isnt hardcore but alot of my friends who are whiny little emo boys do call this emocore or screamo which is just toned down hardcore whithout the angry lyrics.but other than that these guys are real good and you can defintly tell theyre giving all theyve got on every song and it works reely well

All I gatta say is thse guys are too good. They should be BIG, bigger than Blink and Sum 41 cause these guys rock way more. What It Is To Burn is one of the best songs ive ever heard, the first time i heard it I was amazed. As for all the other songs, they are all awsome. Letters To You, Stay With Me, and Without You being my favrouites. To anyone who has taste in music get this CD. Absolutley awsome.

there is some hardcore on here, and some punk, some emo, some everything. It's like a combo of JEW, NFG, and Deftones, now what's wrong with that? Best album I've heard in ages. Creative, energetic, melodic.

This is one of the absolute best CDs I have ever picked up, definetly nothing else even compares to it that has been released this year. If you didnt give this about a 95-100 I dont think you are hearing the same Finch as me

isn't "song #2" really called "post script"? and what about song 13 "what it is to burn"? easily one of the best songs on the cd....great band though, almost as good as Thursday!!

"what it is to burn" wasn't added until the album was re-released and that track was added. Post Script however IS the title of "song #2".
This is a great release. However when compared to Taking Back Sunday, The Used, and Thursday it definetaly takes a back seat. |

What it is to Burn is a fantastic album, but i can't understand why the song with same name appears as a bonus track, that's my favorite one .. should be before ender ... still a great album, in my radio all the time

bad bad bad bad .... bad. very much overrated band from drive thru (every item on the menu is the same). wow. i cant believe how much people adore this band. a bland thursday ripoff mixed with a very very very watered-down sense of "hardcore." absolutely horrible.

Nah, you're just jealous that everyone loves them and not you! Lol. JK But I do love this CD and this band! To each his own.

This album is very good and truly introduces a new sound to fans of drive-thru records. It is most definitely not a hardcore album, but emo-core yes. My one major complaint is that all the songs are basically the same. The drums go about the same tempo, the guitars are always power chords mixed in with higher pitched strumming patterns, the verses are always sung and the choruses are always yelled. Perhaps on the next release, the band can show more diversity. Other than that, it is a very good debut. Best Song: Letters to You.
