I Divide - Last One Standing

Last One Standing

Well, when searching the internet I stumbled upon thousands of reviews of I Divide’s latest album ‘Last One Standing’. After reading several of them I wondered what I could write that hadn’t already been written.

I’m not going to review the album very extensively because everything I have to say has already been said. What you should know about I Divide is that this album is their debut.

They started in 2011 and after nearly two years they are ready to conquer the world with their ‘Last One Standing’ album. When I listened to the album, it was hard for me to believe that this was their debut album. After hearing a few songs you’ll think that they have been playing for decades.

If you’re a rock fan you’ll literally enjoy every second of this album. The press sheet compared this band to bands like Deaf Havana, Mallory Knox, You Me At Six and Memphis May Fire.

The first song ‘Follow Me’ has been the reason why the band has a strong fan base. When the song was published, a while ago, people were eager to hear more from these guys. This song sets the tone for the entire album. A solid, rock voice, some crazy guitar techniques and a drum which will make your belly shake. I can’t pick out a favorite song because they’re all great, but if I really have to choose I would pick out ‘27 Down’. I just really like rock duets (especially when Rebecca Need-Menear is the female singer).

Overall: I can’t deny that this album is a fine effort from I Divine. After hearing it for nearly 4 times I never experienced that “I’ve heard this song before” feeling. Every riff, chorus, verse is well thought-out. The band deserves all the attention it can get with this album. I’m wondering where it will take them, but I’m sure they’ll make it big…
